The freight depot of the
branch of the M. & C. R. R. {Memphis &
Charleston RR}, at Florence, has been enlarged to accommodate
the increased freights. -- Mobile Advertiser |
Yes, our depot has been considerably enlarged, and it is
not more than half large enough yet, to contain all the freight that
comes to our landing. The depot is packed full, the platform is full,
tow or three large brick warehouses down on the levee, are all full,
and at times, the wharf is perfectly packed with freight. Sometimes,
as many as three steamboats are discharging freight, all at once, at
our landing.
