Gen. A. M. West |
We regret the election of Gen.
A. M. West to the Presidency of the Mississippi Central Rail Road
Company. We shall miss him personally on the streets of Macon, and
more than this, Gov. Clark will find it very difficult to supply his
place as Q. M. General of the State. No man has won more upon the
esteem and confidence of our people than Gen. West. He will ever be
greeted with pleasure as often as he may visit the present State
Capitol. |
Macon Beacon |
We regret with our
contemporary, that "no man has won more upon the esteem and
confidence of our people than Gen. West," and we my add, that the
State has not had a more industrious officer for many years. While we
regret his departure from the service of the State, we cannot but
congratulate the Central Railroad company on securing the services of
so able and practical a gentleman for President. |
