Death of a Distinguished Citizen
|

Hon. Wm. C. Smedes, of Vicksburg, is dead. He for many
years stood at the head of the bar of Vicksburg, and was distinguished
for his ability and learning. He was once President of the Southern {(of
Mississippi)} railroad, but at the time of his death
represented the Vicksburg district in the Mississippi Legislature.
