Two Inquests |
We are obligingly informed by
Wm. H. Walker, Jr., Esq., of Germantown, that on Saturday week, the 3d,
he held an inquest on the body of a man who was found lying dead near
that place. He had apparently been killed by the railroad cars running
over him {Memphis & Charleston RR}. From
his dress, he was doubtless a soldier. Yesterday, Mr. Walker held
another inquest, near the same spot, on the body of a man found there,
whose death appears to be owing to a similar cause. His dress indicated
that he was a soldier in the artillery service. His haversack bore the
initials of J. A. B. Nothing was found on the deceased to identify them.
They were decently interred. |
