| Railroad Subscriptions |
| Stockholders of the Raleigh & Gaston
Railroad have passed a resolution re?? the Directors of said Road to
subscribe two hundred thousand dollars to the stock of the Chatham
Coalfields Road. The citizens of Raleigh some weeks since by a large
majority voted a subscription of fifty thousand dollars for the same
purpose. We presume that these subscriptions will secure at an early
day a connection between the Chatham Coalfields and the North Carolina
Road near Raleigh -- an important enterprise that should long since
have been accomplished. |
