We learn through Mr. Barton,
Superintendent of the {Houston & Texas} Central Railroad, that special attention will be
given to the transportation of grain and flour over the line, at
reduced rates of freight, upon these articles. It is the determination
of Messrs. Paige and Hutchins, to admit all stock holders upon the
payment of their ten per cent, in order to meet the liabilities of the
company and to hurry on the road as fast as possible. We feel
confident that the prospects of this route are brighter now than ever
before, and but for the pressure of the times, we might expect unusual
activity on the working ??? |
