North Carolina Railroad |
The travel on this Road has been unusually
good for some months. The profits from freight have, however, fallen
off, as was expected. |
Col. Fisher's Regiment being nearly ready
for the field, it is understood he will resign as President of the
Road. Who his successor will be has been mooted, but we have heard no
name suggested. It is of much importance to the State and to the
Stockholders and the public, that a man of eminent talents and
practical business habits should succeed him. |
