Negro Hire |
The Newbern Progress has learned that
negro men have been hired to work on the Raleigh & Gaston Railroad
the ensuing year at $50 each. This is a great deal lower than usual,
owing, no doubt, to the present unsettled state of the Country, and
the high price of living. |
