Railroad Accident |
A serious accident occurred on the
Charlotte and Statesville Railroad {Atlantic,
Tennessee & Ohio RR}, somewhere near Davidson College,
on Thursday last. The passenger train came in collision with some
loaded platform cars which were standing on the track. The conductor,
Mr. Faulkner, had one leg smashed so badly that amputation was
necessary, and a Mr. McNeely, a passenger, who was standing on the
platform, was so seriously injured that he died soon after the
accident occurred. No one else was injured. |

An accident occurred on the N. C. Road on
Saturday night, near this place, by which two passenger cars were
thrown from the track, causing the accident to the two hindmost cars.
Several were slightly bruised, but no one seriously injured. |
