Important Notice to the Travelling Public |
We are pleased to see that
steps have at length been taken to improve the facilities for the
expeditious passage of travellers over the route from Wilmington to
Montgomery, via Charleston and Savannah. By a total re-arrangement of
the schedules, the vexations detentions heretofore experienced at
Florence, Savannah and our own city will be avoided; and the mails
between Richmond and Savannah will gain twelve hours each way.
Passengers between Richmond and the Southwest will find this route a
pleasant one, with sure and direct connections, and making the same
between Richmond and Montgomery as has been heretofore made by either of
the other routes. |
The Northeastern train now
leaves Charleston at 2:30 p. m., and arrives in Charleston at 8 a. m. On
and after Thursday next, the Savannah trains will connect with those of
the Northeastern Railroad, as will be seen by the advertisement
published in another column. |
