The Rail Road |
Though the running arrangements of our
Road {Memphis, Clarksville & Louisville RR} have
not yet gone into operation, the Road is already doing a satisfactory
business from Memphis up. The number of passengers is increasing
daily. At present, and until next Monday, the 15th inst., there is a
delay at the Tennessee River, growing out of the fact that there is
but one daily train from this place per day, with which the train from
Memphis does not make close connection. Passengers, however, prefer it
to any other route, notwithstanding this objection, as it has the
advantage in distance over any other route. On Monday, the 15th, the
new schedule goes into operation, when there will be two daily trains
each way from Memphis to Louisville. |
