Congress remained in open session about
half an hour this morning. Several unimportant communications were
presented but not read. Mr. Ochilteen of Texas, and Mr. Conrad, of
Louisiana, presented some rail road memorials, the former of which was
referred without reading, to the Military Committee. The petition
presented by the latter, was from New Orleans Rail Roads, and was
accompanied by a Bill to exempt from duty certain cars lately
purchased by the New Orleans & Carrolton Rail Road Company, and
the New Oreleans city passenger railway. |
