King's Mountain Rail Road |
The annual meeting of this company was
held in Yorkville. |
The gross income of the road for the past
twelve months was $18,403.02; expenses, $5,526.39. The net income is
nearly six per cent. on the Capital. |
W. E. Rose, Esq., was re-elected
President. |
The Hon. J. H. White, one of the delegates
of the "Dallas & King's Mountain Rail Road Company," was
introduced, who proposed to the King's Mountain Rail Road, to join
them in building the road from Yorkville to Dallas, pledging Dallas to
build it as far as the line. It was |
Resolved, "That a Committee of
three be appointed by the Chair, to meet at Yorkville, on the first
Monday in May, to confer with the Commissioners from North Carolina,
and devise the ways and means (if advisable) to continue the King's
Mountain Rail Road to the State line of North Carolina." |
The Chairman appointed John S. Ryan, Wm.
A. Letta and B. ?. Wheeler as Committee. |
