The Supply of Wood |
Our citizens will be gratified to learn
that the efforts of Alderman Salinas to keep up a supply of wood for
the city are meeting with success. Mr. Salinas advertises in this
morning's paper that he has effected a contract for four hundred cords
of wood, which will be brought here by special train on the
Northeastern Rail Road. President Ravenel has generously offered to
set apart a train in future for the accommodation of the city in the
conveyance of wood. Alderman Salinas is giving his whole time and
attention to the matter, and hopes to be able to keep up a full supply
without interruption, notwithstanding the great difficulties he has
had to contend with. |
