Laying in Supplies
The Cincinnati “Enquirer” states that Maj. Hayne, of the South Carolina army, and brother to Col. Hayne, bearer of dispatches to Washington from Gov. Pickens, was in the former city and in St. Lois last week, where he purchased and shipped for home 476,000 barrels of pork, 4,000 casks of bacon, and several thousand bushels of corn for the use of the Carolina army. These supplies were forwarded via the Nashville & Chattanooga {Rail} Road.
