Serious Railroad Accident |
About eight o'clock Saturday
night a serious accident took place between Reeves' and George's
stations on the South Carolina Railroad. A special train with General
Hardee and several other officers on board came in collision with a
freight train, resulting in the death of Engineer Broughton, and
severely injuring Major Black and Conductor C. B. Clancy. We are happy
to state that the General escaped with some slight bruises. |
