Accident |
Monday afternoon about 2
o'clock the up passenger train on the M. & B. Railroad {Macon
& Brunswick RR}, met with a serious accident. The trestle
work over Savage creek, about twenty miles from here {from
Macon}, gave way, precipitation the engine into the creek,
killing the engineer and fireman instantly. We learn that the engineer
was the son of Jonathan Collins, Esq., one of our most respected
citizens. |
