The Board met at the call of

The President read a letter
from Mr Wallace Prest. Wil. & Wel. R. R.
{Wilmington & Weldon RR} proposing that this Co unite with others
in the purchase of a steamer for the purpose of bringing supplies thro
the Blockade, which was considered and declined. |
Mr Mebane introduced the
following, which was discussed and passed: |
Ordered that the President be
authorized to subscribe a sum not exceeding Fifty Thousand dollars on
behalf of No Car R R Co in such Joint Stock Company as may be organized
for the making of Rail Road Iron and other necessary fabrics of Iron for
the use of N C R R Co on Deep River or elsewhere. |
