The President stated that the
meeting was called at the wish of the Governor to consider a letter just
received from the Q. M. Genl. urging the necessity of greater efficiency
in transporting supplies to Genl Lee's Army in Va. The President laid
before the Board statements showing that the Road had done and was still
doing all that was in our power; and it was agreed that the Board would
still use their utmost exertions to fulfill the wishes of the Government
even if the transportation of private freight should be suspended. |

Mr. Berry called the attention
of the Board to a report which had reached him that certain Agents of
the Company had sold certain descriptions of money received for the use
of the Company. The President stated that immediate orders would be
issued to put a stop to the practice. |
