| The Board met at the call of the President.

| On motion of Mr. Davis it was
ordered, That the President be authorized to receive from the Government
in the settlement of our accounts, 6% non taxable bonds at 135 or on
better terms, and sell the same at the best rates that can be obtained. |
| On motion it was ordered, That
the President be authorized to sell all the 4% certificates now in the
hands of the Company, and use the proceeds thereof in the purchase of
Negroes. |
| On motion it was ordered, That
First Class Passenger Fare be increased to 15 cents per mile, and Second
Class to 10 1/2 cents, and that Commissioned Officers be allowed to
travel at the latter Fare. It is also ordered, that the President and
Superintendent be authorized to revise the Freights and increase the
same upon all articles 50% except on Salt &c. And it is further Ordered
that hereafter there shall be required a release from responsibility for
the Transportation on the Road of Cotton, Cotton yarns, Perishable, and
Inflammable articles. |
