An Ordinance to Enable the Western Railroad Company to Complete Their Road
 
   1. Be it ordained by the Delegates of the people of North Carolina, in Convention assembled, and it is hereby ordained by the authority of the same, That that part of section fifth of an act of the Legislature of North-Carolina, ratified February 16th, eighteen hundred and sixty-one, entitled "an act to enable the Western Railroad Company to extend their road from the Coalfields to the North-Carolina Railroad," which requires the president of said road to certify to the Governor that the company has purchased the iron rails, chairs and spikes, and will, forthwith, proceed to lay down and complete each section of ten miles, before said company is entitled to receive the sum of one hundred thousand dollars, be, and the same is hereby repealed.
   2. Be it further ordained, That the lien created by the said act, shall extend to cover both the eastern and western divisions of said road, and all the other property of said corporation. [Ratified the 10th day of May, 1862]
