Dear Sir, |
Your letter to Mr Webb, President, in relation to my
order about wood was handed to me. The case is a very plain one. We
must either have a portion of the wood for hauling the other, or we
must decline to haul it. We can not haul without fuel. Gov Agents
and others, by offering increased & exorbitant prices, have induced
our contractors to abandon their contracts & deliver for them the
very wood cut for this company. Our supply of fuel has thus been cut
off. We have protested against this interference. Our protests have
been disregarded & we shall be entirely deprived of fuel unless we
protect ourselves. This we are determined upon. Our trains must run.
We will haul wood one part for the others, except in the case of the
poor & destitute. |
Yours Very Resfully |
