An Act to Amend the Charter of the Fayetteville & Florence Railroad Company
 
   Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of the State of North Carolina, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That so much of the 5th section of the ordinance of the convention of North-Carolina, entitled "An ordinance to charter the Florence & Fayetteville Railroad Company," as requires a subscription of one hundred thousand dollars before an organization of said company be made, be and the same are hereby repealed, and that whenever fifty thousand dollars shall be subscribed the commissioners therein appointed may call a general meeting of stockholders and said company may be duly organized and proceed to the construction of said road, and that in organizing said company the stockholders shall not be required to elect a treasurer, but said officer shall be elected by and be amenable to the board of directors.
   Sec. 2. Be it further enacted, That the justices of the county court of any county or the authorities of any incorporated town, or the authorities of any corporation in this State, shall have full power and authority to subscribe for the stock of this company, and to issue bonds and other evidences of debt for the purpose of receiving money to pay the same under such rules and regulations as said authorities may adopt, and to levy and collect taxes to pay the same.
