Articles of Agreement

Made this 11th of March 1864 between Jas.
W. Wilson, Supt. W. N. C. R. R. {Western North
Carolina RR} of the first part & Lt. Col. F. W. Sims, C. S.
A. of the second part, witnesseth: that for & in consideration of
the full rates as established by the Macon Convention, the said J. W.
Wilson of the first part agrees to run a train of ten cars regularly
on the N. C. R. Rd. {North Carolina RR} &
the Piedmont R. Rd. loaded with such freight as Lt. Col. Sims, of his
official representative may direct, that the Q. M. Dept. will settle
with these roads for the use of their road beds, wood & water. |
And it is further agreed between the
contracting parties that when the loading is at Charlotte, or any
intermediate point, the order for the transportation will include the
distance from Salisbury to the place of loading added to that to
Stations on the N. C. R. R. or Piedt R. Rd. to which the freight is
consigned. |
And it is also agreed that the Post Qm Mrs
at place of consignment will unload the cars immediately on their
arrival. |
