| I have received your application for a
passport to Nassau for Mr. R. R. Simpson, Agent to purchase supplies
for the N. C. Railroad. In your letter you state that Mr. Simpson is
exempt from military service without giving the grounds for the
exemption & I cannot act upon the application until informed
more fully of the source of the exemption said to be held by the
party. |
