Southern Telegraph Form

Received at Richmond Sept    1862 at      o'clock     minutes
By telegraph from Petersburg  23 To Hon G W Randolph  Sec of War

Yesterday at eight (8) am an agent came to me with your written order for flat cars to carry lumber to Richmond. I put six (6) at his disposal immediately and he was informed we would take them to Junction at five (5) this morning but the government hands did not commence loading them until nine (9) this morning and they will not get off until five (5) tomorrow. I call your attention to this as the rail roads are often accused of delays.
