Sir,
   I learn that there is in Charleston So Ca a sufficient amount of iron, to lay about thirty miles of Rail Road. It belongs to a Road in process of construction between Macon & Augusta, Georgia. Can you remove that iron to a safer place & turn it over to us?
   There is also iron belonging to the "Bran Rail Road" in Georgia, in various places along the line of that road strait way be removed. Can you turn that over also.
Very Resply
Lewis E Harvie {President of Richmond & Danville RR and eventually also the Piedmont RR. The R&D was in the process of upgrading the iron on its road and may have wanted this iron to finish the project.}
{Neither of the roads supposed to have this iron can be identified from this letter}
