Dear Sir,
Yours of the 25th March, instructing us to ship 1000 Bales Cotton to J. T. Trezevant, Charleston, S. C. at hand. We find that we can not get transportation, and are informed by the Quartermaster here, that it must be done through the Q. M. General at Richmond. You will please send us the necessary authority at your earliest convenience.
Serious indisposition has prevented an earlier reply.
