Sir, |
|
This Company has purchased 15,000 lbs of Bacon on the
line of the Va & Tenn Railroad for the purpose of feeding the hands
employed in the repairs and maintenance of this road. I write to ask
that you will give me an order for the removal of this bacon to
Richmond. We have found it impossible to procure our supply of bacon
here and have, therefore been forced to send into the interior for it.
As railroads are a necessary part of army transportation in time of war
I trust the effort we have made to secure provisions for the laborers
required to keep the road in a state of efficiency will merit your
favorable consideration. |

I am, very respectfully |
