| Your letter of the 8th inst. respecting
the removal of public property from Harpers Ferry has been received.
I forward herewith the reports of Lt. Col. Ashby of the Cavalry, and
Capt Sharp A. Quartermaster. You will see from them that the Engine,
Tender and nine Cars, together with other property has been removed
from the Ferry. |
| I would respectfully call your attention
to the report of Lt. Col. Ashby respecting the inexpediency of
attempting the removal of the other property at this time. |
