In the absence of our President Mr L. E. Harvie I write to
apply for such an order, as will enable our purchasing agent to bring to
Richmond from Middlesex & Lancaster Counties, some pork which he finds
that he can procure them but which the Government agent informs him
cannot be permitted to pass through the lines to Richmond without
authority from you. {The two counties are across
from each other at the southern end of the Rappahannock River, some 50
to 75 miles east of Richmond} |
