   I have just recd the following despatch from conductor on our mail train which left Charlotte last evening at 6 oclock & ought to have left Salisbury last night at 10 oclock. Salisbury Nov 28 To Mr Webb Presdt Capt Lane had obstruction thrown across the RRoad track last evening & would not suffer train to pass going east to remove obstructions at ten minutes past ten oclock after removing my passengers & putting in his men what shall I do I dispatched to Gov Vance & he said have to release ????? he ??? to do so only removing the obstructions signed R G ?aggins condr Immediately ordered the condr to keep the train at Salisbury ??? he had complete control of its movements. I respectfully request you to order Capt Lane to yield control of the train to condr & that he be put under arrest & cashiered for his illegal interference
