Dear Sir, |

The 15 coal cars will leave here at 4 a. m. tomorrow for
the coal pits, and if loaded in time will leave for Petersburg tomorrow.
I presume however they will not be loaded in time, and will consequently
be sent by Saturdays train. |

On looking at the receipt I find that the Navy dept. took
10 coal cars from here on the 1st Sept. and that they have not been
returned. |
