| Enclosed you will find my account
against Southern {(of Mississippi)} R R
Company. The Negro & Teams were impressed by order of Gen
Johnston for the benefit of the RRoad and in their service of the
RRoad they were lost. I would now ask you, as they were impressed by
the authority of Gen Johnston to aid the Road, you will now use the
same authority in my behalf in getting me reimbursed and order Maj
Mims to pay the account, and reimburse the Government by stopping
the amount from their earning, due for the transportation of
Government freight. Maj Mims will not pay the acct. without an order
from you & it will greatly oblige me if you will give it your
attention. |
