Mr. Gill  {E. H. Gill, Superintendent of the Richmond & Petersburg RR}

Sir,
   You will please let Capt Hudgins have four (4) of the flats, which have just arrived, to ship the 10 in gun for Wilmington & the 7 in gun for Charleston.
   These guns have been waiting for about two (2) weeks, and it is of the greatest importance that they should be shipped at once.
Respectfully
Eugene Carrington
Capt & A. Q. M.

   The flats that are here are wood flats engaged in transporting wood for the stations and cannot be spared for any other purpose. I send Col. Wadley's reply to my telegram for flats and cars.
   The ??y officers took most of our cars away to North Carolina on 15th Dec. last and have not yet returned them & we are nearly destitute.
