Mr. L. E. Harvie
Presdt R&D RR

Dear Sir,
On Saturday evening last I was approached by an officer who introduced himself to me as Capt. Hewich and was in command of a squadron of 200 men which he wished to have camped in our depot lot. I at once told him that I could not consent for him to bring his men into the lot as it was positively objected to by the President and officers of the Road and although I respectfully and repeatedly reiterated my objections he left me saying that he would assume all responsibility and that I might state the same to the President & officers of the Road and that he would put them in the lot anyhow and would post a guard to prevent and keep his men from the depot. I have seen no guard and the men are still here and are so thick in the up Frt Side of our depot that we can scarcely transact our business. They have kept up fires in the yard all the time which is certainly subjecting the depot buildings to a chance of catching on fire.
I am very Respectfully Yours &c
P. S. Wren
