   The temporary track of Rail road to connect your temporary work with the Macon & Western RRd is approved, cost to be about $3137 as detailed in the estimate accompanying your letter.
   I have addressed a request to the Secy of the Navy for 25 tons of the flat-rail iron stated by you to be subject to his order at Columbus Ga, to be issued to your order, and will inform you of his reply.
   Such agreement to pay contingent damages resulting from the use of a switch, as is customary, you are authorized to enter into, with the Rail Road Company. This had better be in your name, and your successors commanding the Armory.
