Genl G. T. Beauregard
Commanding

General,
I have agents buying on Mobile & Ohio Road, and on the Mississippi and in Arkansas. That from the Mississippi and Arkansas designed to send to Grenada but a portion has lately been detained at Memphis, by my order and used for commands of Gen ???.
I have agents in every direction. The present scarcity of corn is due to the inability of the roads to transport it. I trust the difficulty will be over today.
Respectfully
Yr obt sevt
Eugene E McLean
