NA, RR 4/14B/1864

I certify upon honor that at the time of the approach of the Enemy during the month of February 1864, there was at this Post, for which I was responsible to the Confederate States to the best of my belief and knowledge about the Quantity of fifteen thousand Bushels Corn {100 car loads} and thirty four thousand feet of Lumber {8 car loads}, which I had no means of transporting away {on the Mobile & Ohio RR}, and that this property was necessarily abandoned for the reason above specified and that it fell into the hands of the Enemy and was by them used, squandered and destroyed. No part of the same having ever come into my hands again.
