For necessary & unavoidable expenses of conveying the horses of Gen. J. E. Johnstons Staff from Jackson Miss to Montgomery Ala across the country -- under orders of Gen. Johnston to remove Head Qrs to that place. The Railroads being unable at the time to transport them by cars in consequence of their preoccupation by Govt. freight {the Southern (of Mississippi) RR, the Northeast & Southwest Alabama RR and the Alabama & Mississippi Rivers RR}. 635 50
