   Capt. L. H. Lockett will proceed at once to Decatur, Alabama & indicate to the commanding officer at that Point proper positions for the defence of the Rail Road Bridge (on the Nashville & Decatur RR} with such artillery as has been sent to him.
   Capt. Lockett will also decide as to the best method of destroying the bridge should such destruction become a necessity, leaving minute instructions, as to the manner, in writing.
   The Bridge must not be destroyed except in the last extremity. Having performed the duty Capt. Lockett will return to this place.
