| The undersigned, by order of the AQM Genl having
examined a lot of wool shipped by Maj Geo W Grice QM
at Monroe La, on the 29th Dec 1862, and received by Maj R P
Waller QM at Richmond Va, on the 15th March 1863. |
| 99 Bales weighing 55356 lbs gross |
|
| subject to a tare of 3%, 1,661 lbs = |
53,695 lbs |
| Fifty three thousand six
hundred and ninety five pounds nett. |
|
| The increased number of Bales is
accounted for by the fact, that a number of the original bales
became broken in the transportation and had to be repacked. |
| Agt A P Grice, the special messenger,
also states that one bale was lost between Petersburg and
Richmond {ie, on the Richmond & Petersburg
RR} of which he gives certificates for the QMGenl for
settlement with the RR. |
