Capt W. H. McMain   {Probably in Macon, Ga.}

Dear Sir,
   Your letter of the 16th informed me that you had not received eny Lime since January the 26th that I can very readily account for there has not been eny thing except Troops & their equipage Transported over the Roads since the above mentioned time
   I have some Lime in Columbus but cannot get Transportation for it to Macon for a few days there being some 3 or 4 Thousand Boxes of Ammunition which has the preference over every thing else. I will get started in a few days. I will get one car load through every other day after I get started
Very Respectfully
J. V. Carter
{Columbus to Macon would be over the Muscogee RR and the South Western RR}
