Capt,
I received a letter from Capt Richard Morton this day inquiring about a lot of pig iron which was detained here several days in a broken car. You informed me there was 8 tons and directed 5 sent to Capt Morton care of A. G. Dobney Richmond. The matter was attended to at once but on transferring to the two roads it appears that there were 8 1/2 tons and disposed of thus
5 1/2 tons Five and half tons  to Capt Morton
3          "   Three                " to Yourself
for the latter please find receipt enclosed here with dated 23d inst. Your receipts from Capt Morton will therefor be for 5 1/2 instead of 5 tons.
I am Sir very respectfully
E. B. Branch
Capt & AQM
