NA, RR 1/9/1864

The Confederate States
To David Edwards

1864   Dollars Cents
January 9th To (3134) Three Thousand, one hundred and thirty four feet of Lumber, for making Garner and Braces at Depot No (9) Nine Shelby Co., Ala at $2.50 per hundred $78 35

  {The only way I can get a Depot No. 9 in Shelby County is to start counting Montevallo (the first stop in Shelby County going north on the Alabama & Tennessee River RR) as Depot No. 1. That would make Coosa (the last stop in the County) Depot No. 9. I can find no listing of depot numbers for that RR.}

   I certify that the above account is correct and just; that the articles have been accounted for on my property return for the quarter ending on 31st day of March 1864.
J E Peebles Capt & A. Quartermaster

   Received at Depot No. 9 on the 9th day of January 1864, of J. E. Peebles Capt & A. Q. M. C. S. Army, the sum of Seventy eight Dollars and thirty five Cents, in full of the above account.
