   This day personally appeared before the subscriber Wesley Grigg a Justice of the Peace, George T. Darracott, and made oath that he was in the employment of the Confederate States, as Wagon Master under Capt Thos R. Sharp A. Q. M. directing removing Balto & Ohio Engines & Materials and to his knowledge Twenty four horses impressed to perform the above services died; viz one at Mt Jackson in March 1862, Three at Mount Crawford in March 1862; Three at Leesburg in August 1861; Fifteen at Winchester from 1st Sept 1861 to 1st March 1862 inclusive; one at Bucklestown in December 1861; one at Cedar Creek Bridge on Valley Turnpike in November 1861, and from their conditions from hard labor their ownership could not be identified.
