Sir,
   I have the honor to request that Mr E. V. Early should be appointed Transportation Agent and ordered on duty at this place. Mr. Early was ordered to report to Capt J W Young at this post last June by Maj L Mims then chief Qr Master of the Department Miss & Ea La as transportation agent. He is fully acquainted with the details of the Transportation department is competent efficient & energetic. If he should be appointed to the position I feel that he would do credit to himself and be of service to the Govt.

In regard to E. V. Early, I find that he is a detailed soldier and now employed as superintending transportation of stores and from what I could find out he is worthy of the appt referred as this necessary that some person should fill the position of Transportation Agent.
