   This day personally appeared before the subscriber D. P. McDonald a Justice of the peace for said district, Richard F. Darracott and made oath that he was in the employment of the Confederate States, under Capt Thos R. Sharp A. Q. M. direction, removing Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Engines and Materials and to his knowledge Fourteen impressed Horses died viz: one at Leesburg in August 1861, One at Leesburg & Aldie pike in August 1861; one near Middletown on Valley Turnpike about 1st Nov 1861; one at Martinsburg about 1st Sept 1861; Two on Bath and Winchester road hauling supplies to General Jacksons army in January 1862; Four at Winchester about 15 January 1862; one at Winchester about 1st Feby 1862; Two at Winchester about the 28th Feby 1862 and from their conditions from hard labor their ownership could not be identified.
