| Accompanying this you have Duplicate
Receipts for $16.50, am't due for advertising by Ordnance Dept to
March 31 -- which am't came late to hand as stated in your letter. Mr.
Sneed being absent at Richmond at the date of its receipt, and he
holding power of attorney from F. W. Sims, proprietor, it was held for
his signature on his return. He has since been absent again at
Charleston, but has now returned. I regret the a/c being made out in
favor of the "Proprietor" instead of the
"Republican" for then an individual signature of either of
those attending to Capt Sims interest would have satisfied. |
