   In bringing some cars and engines from Mobile to the eastern Railroads it will be necessary {document torn and missing here} the aid of your department at Montgomery to the extent of such labor of men, material and horses as the work will require.
   I most respectfully ask your endorsement on this letter authorizing that department to grant me these facilities
